St. Landry Parish Assessor Launches AIS™

Opelousas , LA - March 10, 2005 - In another move toward newest available technology, this week the St. Landry Parish Assessor’s office launched AIS™ (Assessor Information System). AIS™ will allow the Assessor’s office to more effectively assess property value in less time. The office expects the new software to increase the staff’s productivity and the accuracy of their assessments.

The staff of the Assessor’s office has been thoroughly trained in the operation of this software by Software & Services, the developer of AIS™. The new software, which runs in Microsoft ® Windows, is designed to be intuitive to the average computer user.

Some benefits of AIS™ are as follows:

• Allows for the combining of parcels under a single ownership entity to reduce the time it takes to get totals for an owner.
• Photos and documents may be attached directly to a parcel record, to reduce the paper chase.
• Automatically creates conveyance records when a transfer occurs. Complete transfers or partial transfers based on percentage are recorded.
• Uses a split routine that allows one or many splits from a single parcel in one operation, thus saving entry time.
• Offers the ability to integrate to maps, sketching, statistical software, and industry standard mass appraisals.

With the features of AIS™ the parish will be able to save taxpayer time and money. This software will allow the office to operate more efficiently because of the time saving features of the program. A favorite feature of many assessors is when a parcel is split, all of the taxing information follows, greatly improving accuracy.
