St. Landry Parish Assessor Launches AIS™

Opelousas , LA - March 10, 2005 - In another move toward newest available technology, this week the St. Landry Parish Assessor’s office launched AIS™ (Assessor Information System). AIS™ will allow the Assessor’s office to more effectively assess property value in less time. The office expects the new software to increase the staff’s productivity and the accuracy of their assessments.

The staff of the Assessor’s office has been thoroughly trained in the operation of this software by Software & Services, the developer of AIS™. The new software, which runs in Microsoft ® Windows, is designed to be intuitive to the average computer user.

Some benefits of AIS™ are as follows:

With the features of AIS™ the parish will be able to save taxpayer time and money. This software will allow the office to operate more efficiently because of the time saving features of the program. A favorite feature of many assessors is when a parcel is split, all of the taxing information follows, greatly improving accuracy.

“With this new software and its features, we are in a position to get more work done for St. Landry Parish”, says Rhyn Duplechain, St. Landry Parish Tax Assessor. Duplechain continues, “The edge that AIS™ gives us over our previous software is invaluable to us.”

Software & Services, the developer of AIS™ and local government software provider for over 25 years, is excited about this product launch. “It is always a pleasure to work one-on-one with our clients and see them succeed,” says Allen Richard. “They have worked hard to bring this 21 st century technology into St. Landry Parish.” Ron Petitt, Lead Support Analyst and trainer at Software & Services says, “The St. Landry Assessor’s office personnel was eager to learn the new system and quickly recognized the time saving functionality.”

The upcoming taxroll season is expected to go more smoothly because of AIS™ and the highly skilled staff at the Assessor’s office.
